Welcome To Murewa

Murewa, also known as Murehwa or Mrewa is, 75 kilometers northeast from the capital of Harare, at the road to Tete (Mozambique). It is situated almost 1400 m above sea level. Public and private buildings are on the rise. Horticulture is the mainstay of the district. The Murewa Rural District Council is an investment destination of choice located in the Mashonaland East Province of Zimbabwe, it was established under the terms of Chapter 29:13 of the Rural District Councils Act. We are a quasi-governmental institution located on the 86km peg on Harare Nyamapanda road in Mashonaland East Province.

The Local Authority’s reason for existence is service delivery in the nation state’s statecraft business hence the need to fit its strategies with the Central Government’s strategy (ZIMASSET-2014 2018) in delivering social services, infrastructure development and food security.
